Khaldoun Hajaj
President of Legal and Public Affairs
 

Mr. Hajaj comes with 25 years of international experience across numerous sectors and industries. Most recently he was Chief of Staff at a leading American / Saudi Private Equity Firm. Prior he served at the Dow Chemical Company for 5 years as Head of Government Affairs - Middle East, Africa and Turkey. During this time he had broad responsibility for issues including international trade, opening of new markets and macro risk assessment. 

He joined Dow from the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi, where he was a senior advisor to the Deputy Minister during which time he developed a comprehensive network of very senior local decision makers and influencers.

Previously he also held senior roles including Advisor and Analyst in the Australian Parliament for more than 5 years (he advised on Infrastructure, Consumer Protection and Corporate Law Reform, Immigration Policy and Population). He subsequently took up a position of Managing Government Affairs and Policy Strategy at one of Australia's leading financial services associations. He was a key lobbyist for the $1.8 trillion pension fund system in Australia. Khaldoun gained the major part of his public policy and advocacy experience as a banking and finance commentator where he developed a national reputation.

Khaldoun holds degrees in Law and Political Economy from the University of Sydney.
